Review by Brigida Blok-Fonseca

Mike Deasy's album, The Road Home, is a soulful and introspective collection of songs that take the listener on a journey of self-discovery and reflection. With his signature guitar work and heartfelt vocals, Deasy weaves together a tapestry of emotions and experiences that are both personal and universal.

From the opening track, "The Road Home," it's clear that Deasy is not afraid to delve into the deeper themes of life and love. The song is a powerful meditation on the journey we all take to find our place in the world, and Deasy's performance is both raw and vulnerable.

Throughout the album, Deasy's guitar work shines, particularly on tracks like "Take Me Home" and "When You're Gone." His playing is both technically impressive and emotionally resonant, adding depth and texture to each song.

Perhaps the standout track on the album is "The Other Side," a haunting ballad that explores the pain of loss and the hope of redemption. Deasy's vocals are particularly moving here, conveying a sense of longing and yearning that is palpable.

Simply beautiful. I still have this on tape, which I picked up at church, though it has a different cover picture.. I wonder if you remember coming to our church, Mr. Deasy. Better Covenant, in Utica, New York. It was the church above the bowling alley.
