Review by Giovanna Marchi

Desert Island Dicks, the latest album from Lowlife UK, is a powerful and emotional journey through the ups and downs of life. With its hard-hitting lyrics, driving rhythms, and haunting melodies, this album is a must-have for fans of punk rock and alternative music.

From the opening track, "All I Want," to the closing notes of "The End," Desert Island Dicks is a rollercoaster ride of raw emotion and unbridled energy. The lyrics are honest and relatable, touching on themes of love, loss, and the struggles of everyday life.

The album's standout tracks include "My Dark Place," a haunting ballad that showcases the band's softer side, and "Sick of It All," a blistering punk anthem that will have listeners pumping their fists and shouting along.

About Lowlife UK

Lowlife UK formed on a drunken night out in 1994 in Bradford, by Beaker (vocals) and Cat (bass) (both ex Stax Wheelwright and the All Stars) and Stoney (guitar ex Nailbomb Uk and at that time also a member of Mindfield/Anti-System). They recruited Mick Teale (Mindfield/Anti-System) on drums and played gigs around Bradford for several months until Mick was replaced by Metal Ing on drums in mid 1995. That line up recorded a pair of demos and the first album "....On Your Knees". released in 1998 on their own label, Punks For Profit Records (P4P 001). The line up changed to Beaker, Stoney and Mickey Knowles (bass - ex Anti-System) and Dave Thompson (drums) in 1999, before an American tour supporting Murphy's Law on the East Coast. A strictly limited edition compilation cd of unreleased tracks from both demo's, along with tracks from the Toe Tag Records compilation "You Make Me Sick" and 5 specially recorded tracks was released early 2000, again on Punks For Profit Records (P4PL 002). The line up changed again in 2001, when Stoney left to eventually form Keyside Stike. He was replaced by Paul Enema on guitar. The band eventually recorded Born To Booze in 2001 (Punks For Profit Records P4P003). The line up changed again in 2003 with Papa Luigi (bass - Lemon Enema) and Gazza (drums -ex Voorhees) and recorded Barstool Preachings in 2004 (Punks For Profit Records p4P004). Followed by That's Just How It Is in 2006 (Punks For Profit Records P4P005 and the covers compilation album Desert Island Dicks in 2007 (Punks For Profit Records P4P006).
