Lindisfarne - Dingly Dell

Review by Steve Rackham

Dingly Dell is an album by Lindisfarne that was released in 1972. It is a collection of folk-rock songs that showcase the band's signature sound. The album features a mix of upbeat tracks and more introspective ballads, all of which are marked by the band's tight musicianship and strong vocal harmonies.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Meet Me on the Corner," which became a hit single for the band. The song is a catchy, upbeat number that features a memorable chorus and a driving rhythm. Other highlights include "All Fall Down," a haunting ballad that showcases the band's more introspective side, and "Wake Up Little Sister," a rollicking tune that features a lively guitar riff and a catchy melody.

I was lucky to see them live in New Zealand in about 1973/4, along with Slade Staus Quo, caravan and Black Feather
fantastic, what a great band, always been a favorite of mine, cheers Dave
Why aren't YouTube doing something about all these tracks that are unavailable.
Just what I was looking for. Thanks for the upload!
I've got the original vinyl Dingly Dell LP at home in good nick.
Masterpiece. Plain & Simple
I've got the original album on vinyl - bought back in the day. For some reason unbeknown to me, this great album took a bit of a beating off the critics - feckin' idiots!!!
This was the first LP I ever bought......in my class other people were buying slade etc sad
I LOVE this album and finally at last managed to get it on CD to replace my very badly scratched vinyl copy
Looked for this on You Tube a couple of years ago, surprised it was missing so thanks for putting it on! Bought this album when it first came out, could never decide then whether I liked this track or not but its stayed in my head ever since. As you say, Lindisfarne never really seemed to be as critically acclaimed as they deserve. Some tunes 'catchy', some haunting, but the lyrics always just darned good. Some music just has that quality, takes you right back to when you first heard it!
I grew up with bands like Lindisfarne. Reminds me of long gone days... This was one of the first albums I ever bought back then in 1972! Thank you very much for this!!!
Wow, haven't listened to this track for 30yrs & it's taken me back to an emotional time, some good memories & some not so good. It's amazing how music can transport us right back to those feelings as though it were yesterday.
