Laurel Halo - Dust

Dust, the third album by American musician Laurel Halo, is a mesmerizing and experimental journey through a sonic landscape that blends elements of techno, ambient, and avant-garde. Released in 2017 on the Hyperdub label, the album showcases Halo's unique approach to electronic music, which is characterized by her use of intricate rhythms, lush textures, and haunting vocals.
The opening track, "Sun to Solar," sets the tone for the album with its pulsating beat and ethereal soundscapes. From there, Dust takes the listener on a wild ride through a series of diverse tracks, each one offering a different glimpse into Halo's creative vision. "Jelly" is a hypnotic dancefloor banger, while "Moontalk" is a dreamy ambient piece that evokes a sense of weightlessness. "Do U Ever Happen" is a standout track that features Halo's haunting vocals over a backdrop of glitchy beats and shimmering synths.
