Review by e.a. clausen

Larry Young's album "Into Somethin" is a magnificent masterpiece that showcases his incredible talents as a jazz organist. Released in 1964, the album features Young's unique and innovative style, which combines traditional jazz with elements of R&B and soul music.

The album's opening track, "Tyrone," sets the tone for what's to come, with its upbeat rhythm and catchy melody. Young's organ playing is simply mesmerizing, and he's accompanied by a talented group of musicians who provide excellent support throughout the album.

Other standout tracks on the album include "Plaza de Toros," which features a Latin-inspired groove and some impressive soloing from Young, and "Paris Eyes," a beautifully mellow ballad that showcases Young's sensitive side.

Summary by e.a. clausen

"Into Somethin" is a must-listen for any jazz fan, and it's easy to see why it's considered one of Larry Young's finest albums. From start to finish, the album is a joy to listen to, and it's a testament to Young's incredible talents as a musician and composer.

Comments

Jaunty organ grooves by Young set the stage and anchor the set, but it's the incredible soloing by Sam Rivers on tenor sax (especially on the track "Plaza de Toros") that really steals the show.
