Funk Upon A Rhyme, the latest album by Kokane, is a masterful tribute to the classic funk sound of the 70s and 80s. From the opening track, "I'm Back", Kokane sets the tone with a smooth, groovy beat that immediately gets listeners moving. The album features a number of guest appearances from notable artists such as Cold 187um, Kurupt, and Big Tray Deee, adding to the album's already impressive lineup.
Kokane's signature vocal style is showcased throughout the album, with his smooth, soulful voice perfectly complementing the funky beats. The album's standout track, "Plastic Surgery", is a witty and humorous take on the obsession with cosmetic surgery in modern society. Other tracks like "The Legend Continues" and "Kokane Presents California Classic" pay homage to the golden age of West Coast hip-hop.

Jerry Buddy Long, Jr. (born in the South Bronx around 1969) better known by his stage name Kokane (or his alias Mr. Kane), is a rapper and singer from Pomona, California best known for his work with . A cousin of Above The Law's main member , Kokane signed with Ruthless Records in 1991 and made a cameo on N.W.A's Efil4zaggin album. He followed this up with his debut album Addictive Hip Hop Muzick. Produced by Cold 187 and Laylaw, the album enjoyed critical and commercial success. Kokane is regarded as the most featured rap artist in the world with over 1800 featurings.
