Julian Cope - Rite

Review by howard diehl

Rite, the album by Julian Cope, is a musical journey that takes the listener on a psychedelic trip through time and space. The album is a collection of eight tracks that showcase Cope's exceptional songwriting skills and his ability to create a unique sound that blends elements of rock, folk, and electronic music.

From the opening track, "Psychedelic Revolution," Cope sets the tone for the album with its catchy guitar riffs and infectious chorus. The album then takes a more mellow turn with the second track, "Soul Desert," which features a beautiful acoustic guitar melody and Cope's haunting vocals.

The album's standout track is undoubtedly "Sunspots," a sprawling epic that clocks in at over 10 minutes. The song features a hypnotic beat, trippy sound effects, and Cope's soaring vocals that transport the listener to another world.
