Encore by John Gary is a stunning album that showcases the incredible vocal range and talent of this legendary singer. The album features a collection of classic songs that are beautifully arranged and performed with passion and emotion.

From the opening track, "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face," to the final song, "The Impossible Dream," John Gary's voice soars with power and grace. His ability to convey the meaning and emotion of each song is truly remarkable, and listeners will be captivated by his performances.

One of the highlights of the album is the duet with Julie Andrews on "The Sound of Music." Their voices blend together perfectly, creating a magical and unforgettable moment. Other standout tracks include "Moon River," "Somewhere," and "Over the Rainbow."

Just plain lovely
i heard this song on honeymoon 53 yrs ago; still luv the words . enjoy your spouse all your days.
I first knew of John Gary as a child. Gratefully, my parents knew what great music truly was. I am now nearly 65. Because of this man, I was inspired to sing and have been doing so since. He filled in for the Danny Kaye show for a couple of summers, creating his ow: The John Gary Show. I hope I can one day join him in the Lord's Choir of Angels.
One should never compare singers. They all have their assets, but John had perhaps the most significant range of any male singer I have ever heard!!!
Impeccable! How I miss music like this
One and only, with all respect to Jerry Vale, Como, Martin and others.
Bill Kenny & The Ink Spots had a hit with this tune in '51 I think it was. Check out that version too!
John can make a meal of every phrase, use his enormous talent, and the listener comes away satisfied. RIP JG.
I was married to him when he recorded most of his hits.
Thank you for sharing all those songs that I really like and love to listen to like this one.I have subscribed and have started listening to them. It's as if I found a treasure chest.

Rolando
Thanks for sharing this, it is just beautiful I personally prefer this to Perry Como`s , we all have our own favourites. Did you know this song was written in the early 1930s and recorded a number of times but it wasn't till Perry's version in 1951 (which sold over 1 Million records) that it became a "Crooners Standard
I had the honor of hearing John Gary in person here in Houston after he had been sick. Still had beautiful voice, breathe control and almost the high notes and still made any song beautiful.
Steve Lawrence wished he sounded like JG on his best day.
This is a most beautiful rendition of this great song. A great addition to my "favourites". 5* post.
Nicely done! As a teenager, I remember the librarians in my small town putting his lps at the forefront of the new stacks so people would check them out. Had the exact opposite effect, of course, but now I'm checking him out(thirty years later) - thanks for posting!
His family has a wonderful website in his honor. Check it out at johngary.com
John Gary had a great and powerful voice. When he sings a song when a big voice as needed, John never failed. He is one of those unrated voices of the great era, but has a large fan base that remembers. Thanks for posting and sharing.
I saw JOHN sing this song on Joey Bishop"s Late Night Shoe (with Regis Philbin) and it sounded even better live--if that's possible. John Gary was sheer perfection!!
great singer but this song I'm not too fond of his rendition, not sung in his usual way, his pronunciation seems too strong with a couple of words. But definitely better sung than Vic Damone's version, my favourite is Richard Kiley's as his was the first time I heard this song on the original Broadway cast version lp, so a sentimental favourite.
John is top, period! Dean Martin is also a favorite of mine. but we forgot to mention:
Didn't know this was Sam's page.  This is his mom.  I'm the one who was listening to John Gary, NOT Sam - doubt if Sam even knows who he is!!!
Brilliant. Love John Gary
