Review by Edwien Einstein

Jiri Hlinka Med Studenter is a captivating album that showcases the incredible versatility and skill of Jiri Hlinka and the composers featured on the record. The album features works by Franz Liszt, Janacek, Rachmaninov, Prokofjev, and Sjostakovitsj, all of which are performed with precision and passion by Hlinka.

Listeners will be immediately drawn in by the opening track, Liszt's "Petrarch Sonnet No. 104," which features Hlinka's beautifully expressive playing. The album also includes some lesser-known works, such as Janacek's "In the Mists," which is hauntingly beautiful in its simplicity.

Throughout the album, Hlinka's technical proficiency is on full display, particularly in the more challenging pieces such as Rachmaninov's "Prelude in G minor." However, he never sacrifices musicality for technique, and each piece is imbued with emotion and depth.
