Soul power uk!!!?
Back in 1966 Jimmy James had beef with Ike & Tina Turner because they didn't like this record. While they were in England they were asked by a music magazine to review some songs and apparently Tina said Jimmy had a terrible voice and Ike said the song sounded like it was recorded on a home recorder. Jimmy took offense and told the press "tell Tina that screaming isn't singing and we've got one James Brown already." Jimmy added that he hopes they find Phil Spector's number soon because they need him.

Bloody hell makes me want to dance all night again. If only bring back dubbies make an old guy feel like a young guy @ the shoreline or any all nighter again
In the sixties Jimmy James & The Vagabonds, Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band and Herbie Goins & The Nightimers were all doing wondrous things for UK Mod audiences.
