Review by chris carr

Jethro Tull's album, Kissing Willie Heavy Water, is an impressive piece of work that showcases the band's versatility and creativity. From the opening track, "This is Not Love," to the final notes of "Another Harry's Bar," the album takes the listener on a journey through a range of moods and emotions.

The standout track on the album is undoubtedly the title track, "Kissing Willie." With its catchy guitar riff and clever lyrics, it's a song that's hard to forget. Other highlights include "Rocks on the Road," which features some impressive flute work from frontman Ian Anderson, and "The Rattlesnake Trail," which has a bluesy, almost Western feel to it.

Jethro Tull is a Grammy Award winning British rock group that was formed in 1967-1968. The group's music is marked by the distinctive vocal style and lead flute work of front man Ian Anderson. Initially playing blues rock with an experimental flavour, the band has, over the years, incorporated elements of classical, folk and 'ethnic' musics, jazz and art rock.

Jethro Tull. One of the Greatest Rock Bands of All Time !! ??
Let me guess--the director had just seen DANGEROUS LIASONS. (An American version would be "Kissing Dick.")
Back in 1989 on MuchMusic--Canada's MTV--Christopher Ward had a year-end show Fromage 89, in which he brought together the year's cheesiest videos, and this one took first place!
Did you know that Jethro Tull was named after an 18th-century English agrarian who invented a seed-sowing machine and a horse-drawn hoe? Oh, you did.
They did the same thing back in ABRAHAMS days. that pussy rocks man , we love beautiful lady. AMEN
Great. Album. From. Jethro. Tull.
Something about this seems like the result of a midlife crisis being directed into one song. But it didn't vent enough so he wrote catfish rising.
Double entendre? This goes to octuple entendre. Tull of course purposely made a couple of "harder" albums after the crap they took for winning the Grammy. This was part of the result.

For the silliness of the lyrics, the music is quite solid. Have fun and enjoy.
Ian Anderson's flute is clearly associated with 'willie'
It's good to be the king.
Great song awesome guitar
They whistled Ian's flute. In Spanish-argentine language, "Le soplaron la quena a Ian"
Then again Ian doesn't give a shit! He's always done what he wants!
How the hell did Ian think this was goin to get past the censors in the UK & anywhere for that matter!
the guy with the log: Got wood?
"Me & Willie can't help but cum when she calls?": nuff said
& all the girls heads going down!
the last scene when the girl grabs Ian's flute: now THAT'S a blow job!
But he's always been the best at sophisticated & sleazy humor!
(The Monty Python influence!)
Inuendo at its best & Ian knows you know what he's talking about!
I believe it was banned on the BBC! the term "Kissing Willie" was old English slang for
giving "head"
(For the clueless out there who may not have known that already!)
cheeky bastards
Ahh the mamorys,
Love this video. All that running around. Wonder if the actors and musicians had fun making it.
Recorder from Czech television btw :) Thats where I saw it the first time. One of their best for me.
Such an obvious and terrible joke, accompanied by a video that even Ian Anderson said was regrettable. But damn, I can't help but like the song, and even the video has its moments. Not one I'd go recommending to friends, however.
That's one hell of a stick! It's log log it's better than bad it's good! Best friends don't do that! I fuckin' had you man.
Rock me Kaiser Wilhelm!
I've had this glorious song stuck in my head for months xD
its gotta be hard for Willie to play flute and get kissed at the same time and do both justice... makes sense to me anyway
I have to admit that as a non native speaker it took me also some time to realise the true identity of 'willie'. But come on - imagine this stuff was really banned from TV. Not to mention that MTV wouldnt have anything to show if we had the same moral views nowadays, Its just good fun and in some way good tully tradition like "hunting girl" or "velvet green' show. One thing must be made clear too. This one was the opener on 1989 'Rock island" album not on the grammy winning 1986 album "crest of a knave". So you poor 'real' metal fans neednt to be shocked, Tull didnt win with such a dirty dirty song.
