The album Christmas Music of Sweden by Ingvar Wixell with the Orchestra of Hans Walgren is a delightful collection of traditional Swedish Christmas songs. The album features Wixell's powerful and soulful voice, which is perfectly complemented by the beautiful orchestral arrangements of Walgren.
The album transports the listener to a winter wonderland of Sweden, with songs like "Nu tändas tusen juleljus" (Now a Thousand Christmas Candles Are Lit) and "Mitt hjerte alltid vanker" (My Heart Always Wanders). Wixell's rendition of "O helga natt" (Oh Holy Night) is particularly moving, with his rich baritone voice adding depth and emotion to this classic Christmas hymn.
The Orchestra of Hans Walgren provides a beautiful and festive musical backdrop to Wixell's vocals. The arrangements are full of lush strings, vibrant horns, and playful woodwinds, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for the holiday season.
Last date mentioned on the cover is November 1964, I would guess released in 1965, but not sure.
