The Hanson Brothers - Gross Misconduct

Review by Robert Foster

The album Gross Misconduct by the Hanson Brothers is a punk rock masterpiece that showcases the band's raw energy and irreverent humor. The album features 13 tracks that range from fast-paced, high-energy anthems to more introspective, melodic ballads.

The album's standout tracks include "My Girlfriend's a Robot," a catchy, upbeat song that will have listeners tapping their toes and singing along, and "The Hockey Song," a raucous tribute to Canada's national pastime. Other notable tracks include "Sledgehammer," a hard-hitting punk rock anthem, and "You Can't Handle the Truth," a fast-paced, high-energy track that will have listeners moshing in the pit.

Notes

  • Looks and sounds like a Ramones release.
  • Track 15 is a Ramones cover. Track 17 is an alternate version of a Nomeansno track.
  • Recorded at Dollhouse Studios, Victoria, B.C., August 1992.
  • Alternative Tentacles Records. 64 Mountgrove Road. London N5 2LT.
  • ℗ 1992 NoMeansNo/SOCAN/(ASCAP)/UPRIGHT MUSIC
  • © 1992 Alternative Tentacles Records
  • Made in England.
  • This is a white label pre-release promo which came in a plain white paper sleeve with a hype sheet stapled to it. It did not come with a 7" but does mention that one will be included with the official release. Also has Mordam Records listed at top of hype sheet. Labels look like test pressing labels and have the Alternative Tentacles logo with blank fields for artist and Tracks plus Virus with a blank field and tick boxes for LP, EP, & Single. Although all fields have been left blank on both sides. States that prospective release date is Nov. 6th. Not exportable to europe
  • On the spine the catalogue number is Virus 116 but on the front cover on the right low corner it is ATR 116 as it is on the LP Label.
  • This is the UK Alternative Tentacles version. This is an advance copy with a white label one side and advance copy sticker on the other. The 7inch is the same. There is also a letter/promo sheet that accompanied the release included. The records are unplayed as far as I can tell, the cover shows some sign of age, the inner sleeve has a crease and the promo sheet has a fold line otherwise all are "mint".
  • LP comes with a bonus 7" (tracks C1 and D1, D2).
  • Inner Sleeve with lyrics and cartoons in the Style of the Ramones early LP's
  • Produced by T.G.
  • Recorded in a Basement

There needs to be another album.
With Nomeansno in Prague 1994 or maybe 1995...dunno, but it was class
Lucky enough to see Hanson Brothers and Nomeansno in London and met Rob and John.
hawkee yea
Caught these guys playing in my hometown Waterloo Ontario.it was fun! The next week I happen to be in Montreal, and they were playing there too. I said "fuck It! I'm going for an other."
Ex: no means no . Henson brothers play ramones song.. very good ..that the full bass Who rob Wright.. the best ..
I saw Nomeansno in 2000, and the Hanson Brother in 2001, in Prague. Before the Hansons' show, the Brothers Wright were sitting out in the lobby (perhaps holding court?) - a bit star struck, I was staring at John Wright, and at one point John looked back at me, acknowledging the fanboy. During the show, in a small venue, he jumped down into the crowd, strode over to me, and, with the mic at my ear, he sang "It's my game!" A nice memory!
