Godcrucifier - Jerusalem

Review by Grace Sully

Jerusalem by Godcrucifier is a brutal and unrelenting album that showcases the band's mastery of extreme metal. From the opening track, "Descent into Hell," to the closing epic, "The Gates of Heaven," the album is a non-stop barrage of crushing riffs, thunderous drums, and demonic vocals.

The production on Jerusalem is top-notch, with every instrument and vocal line coming through clear and powerful. The guitar work is particularly impressive, with a mix of fast-paced tremolo picking and crushing power chords that create an atmosphere of pure aggression and darkness.

Lyrically, the album is centered around themes of Satanism, blasphemy, and anti-Christianity, with tracks like "Satan's Throne" and "Crucify the Nazarene" delivering scathing critiques of organized religion. While the subject matter may not be for everyone, the intense passion and conviction behind the lyrics make them difficult to ignore.
