About Giancarlo Chiaramello

Italian composer, conductor and keyboardist, born February 18th, 1939 in Bra, Piedmont, Italy. Chiaramello enrolled at the Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" di Torino in 1949, at 10 years old. He studied there until 1960, graduating in piano, organ, composition and choral singing. From 1960 until today he has participated to several Festivals of Contemporary Music in Venice, Belgrade, Warsaw, winning numerous prizes. He also gained the international prize of composition Rainier III of Monaco in 1962. He taught Composition to the Conservatory of S. Cecilia of Rome in years 1985/87. He made the arrangements for famous singers of the years 60/70: Milva, Villa, Endrigo, Pettenati, Delirium, New Trolls, Ivano Ditches, Pieces etc. He participated as conductor in several editions of the Festival di San Remo as well as in Eurovision (1967 with Claudio Villa, 1968 with Sergio Endrigo). He participated in radio and television productions in quality of arranger and director of orchestra. He composed theatre music, e.g. "Orlando Furioso
