The powerful vocals of Flagstad are perfectly complemented by the sweeping orchestral arrangements of The Philadelphia Orchestra, under the masterful direction of Ormandy.

The album opens with Wagner's Immolation Scene from Götterdämmerung, a dramatic and emotionally charged piece that showcases Flagstad's incredible range and depth of feeling. The orchestra rises and falls with each crescendo, building to a breathtaking climax that leaves the listener breathless.
