Extra Golden's latest album, Ok Oyot System, is a seamless blend of Kenyan Benga and American rock. The band, consisting of two American and two Kenyan members, have created a unique sound that is both culturally rich and musically satisfying.
The album opens with "Ok-Oyot System," a high-energy track that immediately sets the tone for the rest of the album. The guitars and drums are perfectly balanced, creating a driving rhythm that is impossible not to dance to.
"Obama" is another standout track, with its catchy chorus and infectious melody. The song is a tribute to Barack Obama, who has Kenyan roots, and the band's love for their homeland is evident in the lyrics.
The album also features slower, more introspective tracks such as "Gimakiny Akia" and "Tussin Fog," which showcase the band's versatility and ability to create a range of emotions through their music.
