Review by Tsering !

The album Goldball by Exmagma is a must-listen for any fan of experimental jazz and rock music. The band's unique blend of psychedelic sounds and complex rhythms creates a truly captivating listening experience. Each track on the album is a journey through a different musical landscape, with unexpected twists and turns that keep the listener engaged from start to finish.

One standout track on the album is "Goldball," which features intricate guitar work and a driving bassline that builds to a climactic crescendo. Another highlight is "Mekano," which showcases the band's ability to seamlessly blend electronic and acoustic elements into a cohesive sound.

German underground jazz fusion super trio of sorts with their roots in Stuttgart. Keyboard player Thomas Balluff had started with the "soul" band Muli & The Misfits in the 1960's, whereas the guitar/bassist Andy Göldner came from Five Fold Shade (a local rhythm n' blues combo). Drummer Fred Braceful was the odd one out, an American jazzer who moved base to Germany in the late-1950's, and had worked extensively with Wolfgang Dauner and Et Cetera.

C est special
Fred Braceful, the drummer, died in 1995. He was apparently a well known Jazz drummer.
The covered aged well.
KrautRock (!) never heard this term before - never heard of this band before - love em - thank you so much for expanding my horizons.
OUR MUSIC ROCKS!
OUR LEGS ARE LONGER THAN NORMAL!
OUR PANTS ARE SQUISHING DEEZ NUTS ALOT!!!!!!!!
fora da mídia tem muita coisa boa né?!
These guys look pretty high.
What the stilts tell you is that these guys are HIGH, or, maybe , you are! Definitely an elevated trio!

Epic❣️
Why do people keep mislabeling fusion as prog rock? Not that I'm complaining. I'd have never gotten into jazz were it not for people mislabeling jazz as prog rock.
WTF,?
Excelente disco esa época jamás será superada y lo sabemos
Oh, the days of progressive rock/jazz. It lasted too short a while but was great. Too many of these bands musically crawled up their own a-holes and lost their audiences for the most part. That is the unfortunate tendency inherent with this kind of music. It happened when Be-Bop killed Jazz as popular music, then again when bands like Yes stopped writing songs that could be sung or remembered by their audiences. Much of this is just pointless technical noodling to me.
Musical self-indulgence is fine as long as you don't need anyone else to keep you going, like a substantial audience. It's a form of quasi autism.
I used to have this on Import 12 inch LP I bought it from a mail order company in Portland Oregon back at that time known as: INTERGALACTIC TRADING COMPANY”
This is why we had to invent punk.
wow
Can't find them in Apple music... that's a shame.. Cool album! I like the cover art! Are they wearing something to make their legs longer?
These guys sucked in 74 and still suck today

Little known fact. The members of this band met at a specialty pants store for long legged men. Coincidentally, they all were terrific musicians and decided to form Exmagma, which is German for long pants.
Some of the time signatures on this album are insane, jam factory starts off in 30/8 (3 bars 8/8 + 1 bar 6/8 =30/8)

Yet these guys sound nothing like ELP but are great to listen to without pretense.
Ripping the bass. The band is tight man.
