Doe Maar, the self-titled album by the Dutch band Doe Maar, is a classic example of the band's unique blend of reggae, ska, and pop music. The album was released in 1979 and quickly became a hit in the Netherlands, where it sold over 100,000 copies.
The album features a mix of upbeat and mellow tracks, with catchy melodies and lyrics that are both playful and socially conscious. The band's signature sound is driven by the tight rhythm section, the jangly guitar riffs, and the smooth, soulful vocals of lead singer Henny Vrienten.
The standout tracks on the album include "Smoorverliefd," a bouncy pop song about falling in love, and "Pa," a poignant ballad about the relationship between a father and son. Other highlights include "32 Jaar (Sinds 1 dag of 2)," a reggae-infused protest song that criticizes the government and the media, and "Doris Day," a playful ode to the Hollywood actress.

- This version has no barcode and a different matrix/runout from other versions.
- Track 1-14 has an incorrect track length of 2:45 listed on the sleeve
- Picture of Piet Dekker opening his trenchcoat is censored by band logo.
- Although everything hints towards the Sky-label, the actual logo is nowhere printed on the release.
