I discovered this on a budget priced l.p from the 70's called 'Woodstock Generation'. I bet a few people own that, there were some Big and small names on that record. The Dillards version of Rainmaker (and there are many) is very appealing, love the slide guitar/ pedal steel. It really makes it for me. Very happy x
Great song, great group! Thanks!
I may be wrong, but back when I was young, I think I might have heard this on a 1970's episode of Captain Kangaroo! If it's true, then I guess that we have to assume that the Captain and Mr. Green Jeans had good taste in music!
Great cover of the Nilsson song and a fabulous opener to the classic Copperfields album. I remember a DJ playing it on Radio One prior to the album's release and being knocked out by it back then. Still sounds wonderful...something timeless about bluegrass?
Wow! I ain't heard this song in years. I used to hear it a lot on the radio back when I was very young in the early 70s . Don't know why it wasn't a big hit. I've always liked it! A classic! Thanks for posting it! Good to hear it again after all those years.
