Review by Karen Michelle Nutt

Christina Andersson's album Sånger Bertolt Brecht Bulat Okudzjava is a masterful tribute to two of the most influential and socially conscious artists of the 20th century. The album features a collection of songs by German playwright and poet Bertolt Brecht and Russian singer-songwriter Bulat Okudzjava, all beautifully interpreted by Andersson's rich and emotive voice.

The album's arrangements are simple yet effective, allowing Andersson's vocals to shine through. The use of acoustic instruments such as guitar, accordion, and violin creates a warm and intimate atmosphere that perfectly complements the lyrics' poignant themes of love, war, and social injustice.

Throughout the album, Andersson's voice is a powerful instrument, effortlessly conveying the range of emotions present in the songs. From the hauntingly beautiful "Kriegsfibel" to the uplifting "Ballade om den gula hunden," Andersson's performance is a tour de force that will leave listeners moved and inspired.
