Review by Raquel Peñalver

The album "The Celestial Country" by Charles Ives Schutz Choir Of London, London Symphony Orchestra, Harold Farberman is a stunning masterpiece that showcases the beauty and complexity of choral music. The album features a collection of Ives' works, including "Psalm 90," "The Celestial Country," and "General William Booth Enters into Heaven," all of which are performed with precision and passion by the Schutz Choir and the London Symphony Orchestra.

The album's title track, "The Celestial Country," is a standout piece that captures the essence of Ives' style. The choir's soaring vocals are complemented by the orchestra's rich instrumentation, creating a celestial soundscape that is both uplifting and awe-inspiring. The album also features several other choral works that are equally impressive, such as "Psalm 90," which is a powerful meditation on mortality and the fleeting nature of life.

About Charles Ives Schutz Choir Of London, London Symphony Orchestra, Harold Farberman

Born: October 20, 1874 (Danbury, Connecticut, United States) Died: May 19, 1954 (New York, New York, United States) Charles Edward Ives was an American modernist composer. He is widely regarded as one of the first American composers of international significance. Ives combined the American popular and church-music traditions of his youth with European art music and was among the first composers to engage in a systematic program of experimental music. With musical techniques including polytonality, polyrhythm, tone clusters, aleatoric elements, and quarter tones he was foreshadowing virtually every major musical innovation of the 20th century. Ives's music was largely ignored during his lifetime as an active composer, but since then his reputation has greatly increased.
