The Broadside Boys have just released their self-titled album, and it's a real treat for fans of traditional folk music. The album is a collection of classic songs that have been given a fresh new spin by the talented musicians of the Broadside Boys.
The album opens with the lively and upbeat "Whiskey in the Jar," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The instrumentation is excellent throughout, with banjos, fiddles, and guitars providing a rich and authentic sound. The vocals are also top-notch, with the harmonies on tracks like "Wild Rover" and "The Bonnie Ship the Diamond" being particularly impressive.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Fields of Athenry," which is given a haunting and melancholic treatment. The song tells a powerful story of injustice and struggle, and the Broadside Boys do it justice with their poignant performance.
