Born: March 2, 1906 in Henderson, Kentucky
Died: December, 1975 in East St. Louis, Illinois
Darby recorded for Paramount in 1929, for Victor in 1931, for Bluebird in 1933, for Vocalion in 1935, and for Decca in 1937. Recordings made in 1960 by has never been issued.
"For the 1929 session, the Gennett files show the artist as Roosevelt Darby. We can only speculate, but it may be that this artist was named Theodore Roosevelt Darby, after Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, President of the United States from 1901 to 1909."
