Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has returned with their latest album, Louie Louie Louie, which is a tribute to three legendary musicians - Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, and Louis Jordan. The album features 13 tracks that showcase the band's signature blend of swing, jazz, and rhythm and blues.
The album opens with "Dr. Feelgood," a lively tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's horn section is particularly impressive on this track, as well as on "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby" and "Zig Zaggity Woop Woop Pt. 1."
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Basin Street Blues," which features a soulful vocal performance from lead singer Scotty Morris. The band's arrangement of the classic tune is both respectful to the original and fresh in its own right.
The album also features a few instrumentals, including "Diga Diga Doo" and "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie," which highlight the band's impressive musicianship. The latter track, in particular, features some impressive guitar work from Morris.
