Review by Paul Small

Bastard Of The Skies' latest album, Ichor Ichor, is a fierce and unrelenting work of sludge metal that is sure to please fans of the genre. The band's signature heavy riffs and pounding drums are on full display throughout the album, creating a wall of sound that is both oppressive and exhilarating.

The album kicks off with the punishing "Old Vessels," which sets the tone for the rest of the record with its crushing guitars and thunderous drums. From there, the band launches into a series of equally punishing tracks, including "The Rats Through Our Veins" and "The Unspoken."

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Serpent's Tongue," which features a haunting melody that is both beautiful and ominous. The song builds slowly, with layers of guitars and drums building up to a climax that is both cathartic and intense.

About Bastard Of The Skies

Hailing from Blackburn, Lancashire, Bastard of the Skies have been spewing their own, uniquely filthy, racket since 2006. Through three albums, an EP and a Split LP the band have cemented their own sound by welding massive, lurching, riffs to sludgy noise and discordant melody. Gigging heavily across the UK the band has evolved into a brutal and unrelenting monster. The drums pound, the bass rumbles, the riffs crush. Even the occasional moments of melodic respite pave the way for even bigger, more devastating and ferocious, riffs. Having toured the UK and Europe with Jucifer the band has also played with Orange Goblin, Harvey Milk, Kylesa, Baroness, Today Is The Day, Black Sun, Lazarus Blackstar, Volition, Conan, The Sontaran Experiment, Undersmile and many more. Current members: Matt Richardson - Guitars, Vocals Claire Horrocks - Bass Matt Aldred - Drums Past members: Rob Beesley - Guitar (2006 - 2014) Nick Cleeve - Drums (2008 - 2009) Craig Hetherington - Drums (2006 - 2008)
