Review by Deep J Singh

Industry and Thrift, the fourth studio album by Bad Livers, is a unique blend of bluegrass, punk, and country music. The album, released in 1998, features 14 tracks that showcase the band's versatility and creativity.

The album opens with the upbeat and lively "Death Trip," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. From there, the band takes listeners on a journey through a variety of musical styles, from the punk-infused "Lumpy, Beanpole & Dirt" to the more traditional bluegrass sound of "The National Blues."

One of the standout tracks on the album is "I'm Goin' Back to Mom and Dad," which features haunting harmonies and a melancholy melody. The band's cover of the classic tune "Lonesome Fiddle Blues" is also noteworthy, showcasing the band's instrumental prowess.

mega song'
As a youngster, my sister used to get free magazines at her bookstore job, so she would bring home a CMJ magazine with a sampler every month and give it to me. That's where I heard this song, and it transfixed me. Hearing it made me see that banjos/bluegrass/trad-music/"Americana" could be energetic and subversive, almost punk-rock. Gawd bless the Bad Livers.
Complete bad_a$s_iss!
I haven't seen a better Guitar/Banjo player ever since Bill Monroe died.  Danny Barnes will go down as one of the best ever to play..........Ever.
