Animals That Swim - Workshy

Animals That Swim's album "Workshy" is a fascinating blend of indie rock and art pop that showcases the band's creative musicianship and poetic lyricism. The album features a range of musical styles, from the dreamy, guitar-driven "Faded Glamour" to the upbeat, piano-led "Pink Carnations," all tied together by lead singer Hank Starrs' distinctive, emotive vocals.
The opening track, "Trafalgar Square," sets the tone for the album with its catchy melody and introspective lyrics, while "St. Francis" and "The Black Sea" showcase the band's ability to create intricate, layered arrangements that build to powerful crescendos. "Lush" is a standout track, with its haunting piano and atmospheric soundscapes, while "East St. O'Neill" is a clever, tongue-in-cheek commentary on urban gentrification.
