Review by Dimitris Glezos

Afrosound's album Palo Bonito El Chorrillo is a vibrant and energetic collection of Afro-Latin music that is sure to get listeners dancing. The album features a variety of traditional and modern rhythms, including cumbia, salsa, and reggae. The band's use of percussion is particularly impressive, with tight rhythms and infectious beats that drive the songs forward. The vocals are also a highlight, with rich harmonies and soulful performances that add depth and emotion to the music. Palo Bonito El Chorrillo is a must-listen for fans of Afro-Latin music, and a testament to Afrosound's talent and creativity.

About Afrosound

Afrosound was Colombias reaction to the early 19702s Chicha movement that was happening in Peru and Bolivia at the time. José María Fuentes saw the popularity of this new type of hybrid cumbia sound and thus created a sort of Discos Fuentes super group. Produced by Julio Estrada (Fruko El Bueno), Afrosound not only incorporated the Andean guitar laden sound, but mixed in some funk, salsa/son, tropical, disco, and afro colombian rhythms to boot. The result being cumbia party albums from start to finish. (source: Super Sonido)n
