Review by Brianna Childres

41 Down's self-titled album is a powerful and emotional collection of songs that showcases the band's talent and versatility. The album features a range of styles, from hard-hitting rock to more introspective ballads, all delivered with passion and conviction.

One standout track is "Broken Glass," a haunting and powerful song that features a soaring chorus and searing guitar work. Other highlights include "My Only Enemy," a driving rock anthem with a catchy hook, and "Never Gonna Let You Go," a heartfelt ballad that showcases the band's softer side.

About 41 Down

All started back in the mid-90's with a band called Ditch. The band had a rough sound and featured Kevin Palmer on vocals and guitar, Jason Singleton on drums, and Andy Clark on bass. However, in 1997 the band wanted to go in a new direction with a new sound. While preparing flyers for an upcoming show, 41down was born out of the ashes of Ditch. The 41down name itself came from a crossword puzzle. 41down originally had the same trio as Ditch but Andy was replaced by Josh Moates shortly after the Self-Titled (1997) album was recorded. The band remained a 3 piece for the next few years as they played many local shows to a supportive, loyal fan base. In early 1999 they picked up Jeremy Williams of JL3 Management (Morlock Promotions at the time) as their manager. In June of 2000 the band was looking for a second guitarist to compliment Kevin. They asked Jamie Uertz (he recorded The Lonely Position of Neutral at Sarcophagus Studios) if he was interested, he turned down the offer but offered to help find a second guitarist. Through Jamie, James Fukai and the band hooked up and 41down was now a 4 piece band. Jeremy started sending out demos to many different record labels, and finally attracted the attention of DCide. DCide flew to Birmingham to witness the band in November of 2000 and after watching them live immediately wanted to sign the band, shortly after a deal was reached between 41down and DCide. The Album is Almost Ready EP (2001) was released as the band continued with their No Record Yet tour. They flew to L.A. and New York to showcase for major labels while continuing their tour. Meanwhile, they were expected to release a full length with DCide called True Parallels but it kept getting pushed back until the band eventually got signed by Geffen. Over the next few months the band, now known as TRUSTcompany toured with Puddle of Mudd, Adema, played the Warped Tour, with Korn for their European and Pop Sux tours, and plan on embarking upon a headlining tour come February. Their Geffen debut, The Lonely Position of Neutral, was released on July 23rd.
